It also marks the first time the chain has gone head to head with the competition: the Orlando SuperT is located costumes approximately a half mile away from a new Wal-Mart supercenter. In fact, Wal-Mart pushed up the grand adilt opening of its location by two weeks in order to firefighter beat Target and be the first supercenter in the neighborhood.But the specter of competition did little to dampen the crowds at the SuperT. The 185,000-sq.-ft. store is slightly smaller than Wal-Mart''s 225,000-sq.-ft. unit and is open from 7 a.m. to midnight. The Wal-Mart firefighter and costumes supercenter operates around the clock.Target''s 16th SuperT adilt is closer to the chain''s ideal format, according to one industry consultant, although it is similar to a unit that opened near Atlanta last spring, with some very visible firefighter merchandising changes.The presence costumes of a full-service Starbucks, adilt complete with seating and a pastry counter firefighter just inside the store''s left entrance, says a lot about the retailers'' target audience.
